MediaTek to unveil Dimensity 9300+ chip on 7 May, Vivo X100s first to debut the chip

In an official post by MediaTek on Weibo, the company has announced that it will be unveiling the MediaTek Dimensty 9300+ chipset on 7 May (Tuesday), 9.30 am SGT, during their annual MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference (MMDC). There will also be a live stream for the event.
Unsurprisingly, AI will be the focus for the conference and the new Dimensity 9300+ will come with enhanced capabilities for AI tasks.
According to reports, the Dimensity 9300+ will feature a faster prime Cortex-X4 core that runs at 3.4GHz (up from 3.25GHz) and a faster APU (AI Processing Unit) too. The other three X4 cores will remain at 2.85GHz and the four A720 cores at 2.0GHz.

The first phone to feature the new MediaTek chipsets will be the Vivo X100s phone which Vivo product manager, Han Boxiao, officially confirmed in a Weibo post. The new Vivo X100s phones will support AI for image editing. Vivo shared five photos on its Weibo profile, claiming only the one with the green surroundings is the real photo while the rest were AI generated. The Vivo X100s will be announced sometime in May.
Performance benchmarks
Benchmarks of the MediaTek 9300+ with the Vivo X100s have been shared by Han Boxiao here. The new chipset beats its rival the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in all aspects. The Snapdragon chipset can be found in phones such as the Samsung S24 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
