More MWC-related leaks and this time, we have the new Optimus 3D 2 in the spotlight today. Successor to its 3D-enabled predecessor, the upcoming device is said to be significantly thinner at 9.8mm and lighter by 20 grams. The phone will allegedly come with these specs:
- 1.2GHz dual-core Texas Instruments processor
- 5-megapixel camera
- 8GB of storage
- Bluetooth 3.0
- Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
- NFC / support for 21Mbps HSPA+ networks
The Optimus 3D 2 is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2012 on Korea’s SK Telecom network, though there's no news about a global launch yet. Either way, LG now has multiple smartphones running on two different operating systems making their appearance during MWC with the others being the LG Miracle Windows Phone and the Android LG-P700 and LG-P880. The only gripe that we have with the phone is that the LG Optimus 3D 2 might come with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS instead of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, which doesn't make much sense when the other high-end LG phones will be getting the 4.0 update in Q2 and Q3 this year.
