LG to launch a second flagship phone later this year, specs not finalized yet
A senior LG executive reportedly told Focus Taiwan that the company is planning to launch a second flagship smartphone later this year to boost sales. The specs of the phone have not been finalized.
Could we see the successor of the LG G Pro 2 later this year?
Despite having launched two new smartphones to the G4 series, LG has another flagship smartphone in the pipeline.
According to Focus Taiwan, Eason Shao, director of LG Taiwan's mobile department shares that the company "will continue its dual-flagship strategy this year with the new G4 and another flagship phone scheduled for release in the second half of 2015".
Shao added that he hopes the two flagship models will boost sales in Taiwan by 30% this year. The specs of the second flagship smartphone have not been finalized at the moment. The upcoming flagship smartphone is said to be positioned "above the G series".
This suggests that we may be looking at the successor of the G Pro 2, which is designed to compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note series. If the upcoming phone is considered as the second flagship model, it makes us wonder where does the G Flex 2 stand in LG's product line up.
