First unveiled at CES 2015, LG's G Flex 2 will soon be coming to Singapore.

The phone is priced at $998, with pre-orders starting on 27th February. It will officially be released two weeks later, on 14th March.

The 5.5-inch smartphone is a follow up to LG's first curved smartphone, the G Flex, but now boasts a Full HD P-OLED display. It will also be the first smartphone in the world powered by Qualcomm's new octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor.

Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the G Flex 2 will also be one of the first phones supporting LTE Cat 9, which boasts download speeds of up to 450mbps. As with the original G Flex, the G Flex 2 boasts an ergonomically curved shape, with the top and bottom of the phone curving inwards. For the G Flex 2, LG has reduced the size of the phone, shrinking it to 5.5-inches (down from 6-inches on the original) and has also gently curved the phone horizontally (albeit much less than its vertical curve) for improved handling and grip.

The G Flex 2's smaller size and dual-axis curved form factor makes it much easier to handle.

The phone will be available in both Platinum Silver (which is very similar to the original G Flex color) and a new Flamenco Red. Both finishes sport the innovative self-healing material used on the original G Flex.

A Flamenco Red version will also be available at launch.
