One of the new features on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or Note 6 could be an iris scanner. The Galaxy Beta Program launched by Samsung recently shows an iris scanner feature alongside fingerprint authentication as a security option in the settings menu.

The leaked screenshot comes a week after Samsung reportedly registered trademarks for Galaxy Iris and Galaxy Eyeprint in the U.S, the EU and South Korea. Samsung has been rumored in the past few years to be studying the feasibility of iris-scanning technology on mobile devices.

The Wall Street Journal and South Korean publication INews24 have reported previously that iris-based authentication will be coming to the next generation Galaxy phones.
