Concepts iPhone managed to obtain an image of the rear of the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro through leaked iOS 14 files.

While the camera bump is still located at the same location and manages its shape, the flash sensor appears to be shifted to the middle to make room for the LiDAR Scanner.

9to5Mac previously reported that the iPhone 12 Pro models will have the same 3D sensor as the 2020 iPad Pro lineup. Fast Company claimed that Apple has been working on the 3D sensor for at least two years and can provide extra depth information for better photo and video effects.

In our review of the 2020 iPad Pro, we realized that apps out there aren't optimised for the LiDAR scanner yet. With the release of ARKit 3.5, it would be a matter of time before developers come with apps to make use of the LiDAR scanner.
