The iPhone X's repair fees can cost as much as S$828 without AppleCare+

The ridiculous repair fees should convince all iPhone X users to buy AppleCare+.

If you're considering whether to purchase the AppleCare+ for the iPhone X, we recommend that you do. Apple has revealed the repair fees for the iPhone X and they are very costly.

Accidental screen damage to the iPhone X, which is not covered by the limited one-year warranty, will cost you S$418 while other damages (e.g. liquid damage) will set you back a whopping S$828! To put that into perspective, the repair fee for any other damage is more than half the price of the iPhone X (64GB) itself! In addition, it is a steep increase from the same repair fees for the iPhone 8 Plus (S$248 for screen damage and S$599 for other damage).

With these repair fees in mind, you shouldn't think twice when buying the S$368 AppleCare+ for the iPhone X. The cost to benefit ratio is definitely worth it; AppleCare+ extends the warranty coverage to two years and provides up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage (S$42 for screen damage and S$148 for any other damage).
