The 2018 iPhone lineup is predicted to generate massive sales numbers which are comparable to that of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in 2014.
Industry sources told DigiTimes that shipments of the 2018 iPhone models are expected to hit 70-75 million units by the end of the year. This will be the iPhone’s best performance since 2014 when Apple unveiled bigger displays on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
Supply chain partners reportedly said that they are expecting revenues to pick up significantly alongside smooth production and strong shipment momentum before peaking in Q4.
The rumored delay in availability of the 6.1-inch LCD model, also known as the iPhone 9, could dampen sales numbers. Due to its affordable price tag, analysts expect the iPhone 9 to be the most popular model among the three.
Pre-orders for the three iPhone models are expected to start on 14 September with retail availability of the OLED models beginning on 21 September.
