iPhone 7 may come with a "Force Touch home button"

Cowen and Company analysts claim that the iPhone 7 will have a "Force Touch home button".

While most rumors on the iPhone 7 have focused on the elimination of the 3.5mm headphone jack and the dual-camera setup, little has been said about the Touch ID button. The latest report claims that there will be a new home button.

According to "field checks" done by analysts at Cowen and Company, the iPhone 7 will sport a "Force Touch home button" which sits flush with the rest of the phone. The "Force Touch home button" is said to have a motor to provide tactile feedback that a button is being pressed.

This corroborates yesterday's report by 9to5Mac about a new home button with haptic feedback. Chinese site Storm also reported in April that Apple will replace the current physical Touch ID button with a digital touch-sensitive button.
