Apple has released iOS 9.1 to the public today, marking the first major update since iOS 9 launched in September. Check out all the new features of iOS 9.1 inside.

The biggest new addition is a new library of emoji, which includes a variety of food and drinks such as a taco, burrito, cheese wedge, and a bottle of champagne, a range of religious buildings, and some new faces include an injured face, a sick face, and one with the mouth zipped closed. Ten year old girls everywhere will also be pleased to know that there's now a unicorn emoji.

Apple has also added a new middle finger emoji (available in your choice of skin tones), which may just replace the smiling poop as my favorite emoji.

The update also includes an update for Live Photos, which now sense when the iPhone is raised or lowered to refrain from recording unnecessary movements. The update also introduces a new Messages option in the Settings app that is designed to allow users to disable photos for contacts.

Under the hood, iOS 9.1 also adds support for Unicode 7 and 8, and includes compatibility updates for upcoming Apple products like the fourth-generation Apple TV and the iPad Pro.

Today's iOS 9.1 update is available as an over-the-air update to all iOS 9 users.
