Imagination Technologies is up for sale after dispute with Apple
Imagination Technologies is open to being acquired by "a number of parties".
More than two months after Apple announced that it would be developing its own GPU, Imagination Technologies put itself up for sale.
In its press release, Imagination Technologies stated that it has received interest from a number of parties for a potential acquisition of the Whole Group. The company has initiated a formal sale process and is currently engaged in preliminary discussions with the potential bidders.
The sale process for two of its business units, MIPS and Ensigma - which were put up for sale last month - is progressing well and indicative proposals have been received. Despite the sale process, Imagination "remains in dispute with Apple" where it hopes to reach an agreement with the iPhone maker through a more structured process.
