HTC Plans to Roll Out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update to One X in October (Update)

Besides announcing the One X+, HTC also confirmed that it will be rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Sense 4+ updates to the HTC One X/S from October.

 

 

*Update on 8 Oct: We just received word from a local HTC spokesperson that the Android 4.1 and Sense 4+ update is scheduled to begin rolling out in South Asia for the One X / S from November.

*Update on 2 Oct: HTC confirmed in its press release for the One X+ that it will be rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Sense 4+ updates for One X/S from October.

It seems that HTC has finalized on the delivery schedule of the Android 4.1 update for the One X, which is sometime in October.

According to MoDaCo, the Taiwanese company will kick-start the Jelly Bean update in October, beginning with the HTC one X. There is no word yet on the HTC One XL/S but they should be getting it by Christmas.

Samsung also recently announced that the Galaxy S III will be updated to Android 4.1 in October, followed by the Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II. 

The Jelly Bean update is expected to deliver several new features and upgrades to existing Android devices, which include a more responsive user interface, expandable notifications, more "intelligent" widgets, Google Now and a better virtual keyboard.
