Honor has always impressed us with its smartphone offerings, including the Honor 200 series and Honor Magic V3 phones recently, and the Honor X9c looks set to be joining that list.
This midrange offering from the Chinese brand looks to offer plenty of durability, and not just on the exterior. Outside, the Honor Anti-Drop Display promises drop and scratch resistance for drops from up to 2 meters, thanks to the ultra-tempered glass and protective layers.

The Honor X9c features a 6.78-inch curved OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness.
There's also a three-layer water resistance structure inside that allows for full functionality even after being submerged in water for up to five minutes, with an IP65M rating (the same as a standard IP65 rating, but the device was moving during the certification test).
Together with its Anti-Drop Display, Honor Singapore made a showing of the smartphone's durability by subjecting it to key scratching, nail hammering, and even cooking the Honor X9c alongside fresh meat in a hotpot.
On the inside, the device is also super durable in other ways, with a massive 6,600mAh silicon-carbon battery that can be juiced up quickly with 66W wired Honor SuperCharge.
Honor claims that thanks to this large battery, the phone's battery will last up to 3 days, although that number is probably only achievable with certain power-saving features enabled.
The Honor X9c is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, placing it solidly in the entry-level to midrange category. Despite that, it does come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which is nice.

On the rear, its dual-camera setup has a 108MP main camera and a 5MP ultrawide camera. The main camera uses 9-in-1 pixel binning to produce 12MP images, and Honor claims that it offers 3x lossless zoom, most likely via a digital crop.

Running on MagicOS 8.0, Honor's Android 14 skin, the phone will also come with some AI features like AI Eraser, Magic Capsule, Magic Portal, and more. There's also the Parallel Space feature, which allows dual-space applications to run independently. This might be a good addition if you frequently switch between work and personal accounts.
