Honor announced the 2025 edition of its number series flagship-lite handsets, introducing Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro to Singapore.
Here’s the lowdown on what to expect from both devices.
Selfies, portraits, and every other photo in between

The Honor 400 series devices will have a 200MP main camera (f/1.9 aperture, OIS, EIS) paired with a 12MP ultra-wide that doubles as a macro shooter. Honor 400 Pro gets an extra 50MP telephoto camera (Sony IMX856 sensor, 3x optical zoom, OIS) for even more detailed zoomed shots.
Their front cams are identical, packing a 50MP Portrait Selfie camera (f/2.0) and further enhanced with Honor’s brew of portrait algorithms to help create professional-looking selfies.
All these cameras are assisted by the AI Honor Image Engine, which enables extra functionality beyond its included camera hardware. For instance, the AI Engine lets the Honor 400 Pro extend its digital telephoto zoom from 15x to 50x, while the regular Honor 400 can extend to 30x digital zoom without a dedicated telephoto camera.
Also available is AI Portrait Snap, which helps prioritise sharpness and clarity in portrait mode, even when you or the subject is moving.
Harcourt Portrait (first debuted on Honor 200 series) returns as Harcourt Portrait 2.0. Besides bringing back the three stylistic filters offered by its French studio partner, Harcourt Portrait 2.0 improved its light-shadow effects and also brought on more colour styles. The Honor 400 Pro gets an extra AI Enhanced portrait feature that helps with colourisation.
Supercharged AI features

Honor has added AI Image to Video and HD Moving Photo, in addition to improving its existing suite of AI photo-editing features through its own research and Google partnership.
AI Image to Video can be used up to 10 times free, per day, for the first two months. This feature is based on Google’s cloud-based Veo 2 image-to-video AI generator, which creates five-second videos out of static images (no prompt writing needed).
HD Moving Photo (and its accompanying Moving Photo Collage) is Honor’s answer to Apple’s and OPPO’s Live Photos. Moving Photo Collage is specially designed to create semi-animated photo collages using its new Moving Photo feature.
Other photo-editing tools are AI Cutout (similar to iOS 16’s photo cutout), and an upgraded suite of AI Eraser 2.0 which helps remove reflections and passerbys, extend photos with generative fill, and even upscale low-resolution copies.
The productivity aspect gets a boost with AI Translation of up to 14 languages (Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Malay, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Thai), and even AI Notes.
What makes Honor special are its returning, unique features like AI Deepfake Detection for video calls, Honor Share to iPhones (requires Honor Connect app from Apple’s App Store on the iPhone), and Magic Portal 2.0 (which Honor claims is now compatible with Grab, Trip.com, Waze, Google Maps, Google Image, Google Search, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and REDNote).
Mildly different displays, processing power, and other defining features

Where the Honor 400 series start to differ is in its display sizes and its accompanying chipset.
Naturally, Honor 400 Pro gets the most to showcase with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform (the 2024 standard for flagship devices) and a 6.7-inch quad-curved AMOLED with 2,800 x 1,280 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

Honor 400 uses a midrange processor, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and a smaller 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 2,736 x 1,264 pixels resolution while maintaining its smooth 120Hz refresh rates.
While both pack 6,000mAh batteries, it’s the Honor 400 Pro that has mildly faster 100W wired and 80W wireless Honor SuperCharge. The base Honor 400 gets 80W wired, with no wireless charging offered.
Finally, they also differ in durability: Honor 400 Pro gets full-blooded IP68+IP69 water-and-dust resistance, while Honor 400 is rated at IP66 (our guide to IP ratings here).
The phones are otherwise equal in connectivity components (NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, up to Wi-Fi 7, one eSIM supported, dual nano-SIM slots, and Android 15 via MagicOS 9.0).
The non-tech summary: The Honor 400 Pro has an extra zoom camera, a more powerful processor, faster wired charging, wireless charging support, and slightly more protection against water and dust.
