Google reveals end dates of software and tech support for the Pixel phones

One of the benefits of having a Nexus or Pixel device is tech support directly from Google. However, all good things come to an end eventually. Google has revealed the end dates of software and tech support for its devices.
Starting from the Pixel and Pixel XL, Google will not guarantee Android version updates after October 2018. In addition, there are also no guaranteed security updates and telephone/online support after October 2019.
The last batch of Nexus phones - the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X - will get their final Android version updates in September 2017, security updates and tech support up till September 2018.
