Google is reportedly rolling out support for simultaneous app downloads and installs on its Play Store.

In a recent report, 9to5Google discovered on several Pixel phones and tablets that apps are being downloaded simultaneously, two at a time

If there is a third app to be downloaded, Google Play will automatically put it in the queue with a "pending" notification. In comparison, the Apple App Store can support three downloads and installs at the same time.

One thing to note is that this only works for new installs and not updates. App updates will still run one at a time, although I'm sure Google could easily change that in a future software update.

According to the report, this new feature is working on Pixel phones and tablets running Android 14 and version 40.6.31 of Google Play.
