Based on the leaked specs, the Google Pixel 8a is substantial upgrade over the current Pixel 7a (pictured here).
The upcoming Google Pixel 8a has been in the news recently. The colour options and European prices were leaked by WinFuture, while Google themselves confirmed the existence of the device. Now, some of its specs have leaked.
According to Android Authority, the Google Pixel 8a will have a display that supports 120Hz refresh rates and will have 1,400 nits of peak HDR brightness. This is a big upgrade over the Pixel 7a's 90Hz screen that "only" has 1,000 nits of peak HDR brightness.
The Pixel 8a is also said to have DisplayPort output support, which would allow it to have a Samsung Dex-like desktop mode feature. While the camera hardware is likely to stay the same, the upgrade to the Tensor G3 chip could bring software processing enhancements and better image quality to the Pixel 8a.
More importantly, there are signs that Google is going to bring the Pixel 8a to more markets than the Pixel 7a. Electronic warranty labels for the Pixel 8a have new regions added such as Finland, Poland, Slovakia, and Romania.
The Google Pixel 8a is rumoured to launch sometime in April or May.
