Google may ship three to four million Pixel phones by end of the year

DigiTimes Research estimates that Google will ship about three to four million Pixel phones by the end of the year.

Despite the limited availability of its Pixel phones, Google is expected to ship millions of them by the end of the year. Based on estimates from DigiTimes Research, shipments may reach three to four million units.

HTC, which is the manufacturer of the Pixel phones, will certainly benefit from the demand as these phones may account for 40 to 50% of its total phone shipments in the second half of 2016.

The Pixel phones were announced a few days ago and come in two sizes: 5.0 and 5.5-inches. They come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, a 12-megapixel rear camera and 32/128GB storage options.

While the Pixel phones are on-par or even better than the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in several aspects, Google will not achieve the same shipment volume as Apple. Nonetheless, shipment of three to four million units seems to be a good start.
