Google Chrome for iOS Tops Free Apps Chart

Less than a day after Google announces the availability of both Chrome and Google Drive apps for iOS devices, the former has already topped the free apps chart for iPhone as well as reigns second for iPad apps.

iOS users are quick to act - less than a day after both Chrome and Google Drive apps have been announced for the iOS platform at Google's annual I/O event, the former has already gotten far, with downloads placing it high on the top free apps charts. The most popular browser in the world promises a similar experience to its desktop variant - Users can launch incognito tabs, sync bookmarks/last opened tabs/passwords via their Google account and more.

We had a quick hands-on on the Chrome for iOS on our iPad and found it to be pretty speedy and easy-to-use due to its similarities with the desktop version. With this many downloads within the span of less than a day, it does seem like many iOS users will ditch Safari and rely on Chrome to surf on their mobile devices - well, at least for now.
