Samsung is rumoured to be bringing S Pen support to another non-Note device, the Galaxy Z Fold3.
Korean publication Aju News claims that Samsung will be bringing S Pen support to the upcoming Galaxy S21 Ultra and Z Fold3. In addition, the Galaxy Z Fold3 is expected to be announced in June 2021. Aju News added that the Galaxy Z Fold3 will sport the second generation ultra-thin glass (UTG) with its own cover glass solution that can support S Pen.
An in-display selfie camera is also said to be in the works, but plans could change if the screen and camera quality do not meet expectations. Samsung was initially considering a pop-up selfie camera, but the idea was rejected due to reliability issues.
Samsung's phone launches for 2021 appear to be getting earlier. It is believed to be planning a launch event in January 2021 for the Galaxy S21 lineup. Purported specs of the three Galaxy S21 models have leaked as well.
Aju News' report adds to the ongoing speculation that the Galaxy Note series could be discontinued since the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Z Fold3 are going to support S Pen. The S Pen has been a signature feature of the Galaxy Note series since its introduction in 2011.
