Galaxy S8 users may use their faces to make secure mobile payments
Sources told Bloomberg that the Galaxy S8 will use facial recognition technology for mobile payments.

While current mobile payment technologies require your fingerprint or pass codes to authenticate transactions, Samsung is going to bring it one step further by deploying facial recognition.
According to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter claim that Samsung will integrate fingerprint, iris and facial detection to authenticate payments on Samsung Pay. The feature is said to be rolled out within months of the phone's release and Samsung is already working with banks to it in the next few months.
Samsung hopes that the introduction of facial recognition technology for mobile payment and its own voice-based AI assistant can help differentiate the Galaxy S8 from the competition. The Galaxy S8 will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event in New York on 29 March with pre-orders starting on 10 April and retail availability from 21 April.
