Trust Google to come up with geeky ways to launch its Android smartphones.

During the launch of its earlier Nexus One and Nexus S, Google unveiled two unboxing videos created in the manner of stop-motion animation by Patrick Boivin. The first unboxing video wasn't much to shout about, but the stop-motion animation did appeal to the geek in us. The second unboxing video went a step further with the unboxing ninjas jumping out of the video frame and interacting with the web page.

Expectedly, Google upped the ante with the latest unboxing video for its Galaxy Nexus. The Android 4.0 smartphone is initially featured as another typical stop-motion animation, until the ninja clicks on the resolution option and chooses 8-bit. By that time, we realize that a beat'em up game is planted within the site, featuring the unboxing ninjas in a showdown. The retro 8-bit element will definitely bring up some fond memories for gamers who fought through Streets of Rage and many other similar beat'em up games.

And here's the icing on the cake: the game is available on the Android Market for free.
