The novel coronavirus outbreak has caused many companies to close offices and factories in China to protect employees, but Foxconn plans to resume half of its production by the end of the month.

A source told Reuters that Foxconn wants to resume 50% of its production in China by end of February and aims for 80% in March. Foxconn initially planned to reopen its factories on 10 February, but the plans were put on hold due to the worsening situation and facility inspections.

The virus outbreak is expected to affect Apple’s supply chain in China. An analyst even estimates that iPhone shipments could drop by 10% this quarter.
