While Huawei and Samsung battle to unleash phones with more cameras and hole-punch displays, Lenovo takes a different route and announced the world’s first phone to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and 12GB RAM.

The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is equipped with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a sliding mechanism which hides the dual front-facing camera (16MP + 8MP), a rear dual-camera module (16MP + 24MP).

Design-wise, the Z5 Pro GT has a glass rear panel with a pattern similar to that of carbon, and red accents on the rim of the top side, main camera sensors and the bottom half of the slider.

Lenovo will sell the Z5 Pro GT in three variants: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage at 2,698 yuan (~S$ 536), 8GB RAM with 256GB storage at 3,398 yuan (~S$675 ) and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage at 4,398 yuan (~S$ 873). Pre-order will begin on 15 January with retail availability slated for 24 January.
