CyanogenMod Becomes Cyanogen Inc
With funding of US$7 million from Benchmark Capital and Redpoint Ventures, CyanogenMod has become CyanogenMod Inc. The news was broken by Steve Kodnic
Other than then Nexus devices which comes with vanilla, stock Android OS, most other manufacturers like to skin Google's operating system according to their own fancy. Unfortunately most of the addition to the Android OS almost always fall under the category of "bloatware". Thankfully you could always install CyanogenMod onto almost any Android device and get a near-stock OS experience.
CyanogenMod has now become CyanogenMod Inc thanks to a US$7 million investment by Benchmark Capital and Redpoint Ventures. The move will allow the CyanogenMod team to devote their entire time to the project. Steve Kondik aka Cyangogen also stated in a blog post that the new developments should result in CyanogenMod expanding the size of their operation and delivering speedier updates.
One of the first things the new CyanogenMod Inc is tackling is the "hideous installation process". Users can expect a new installer to be on the Play Store in the next few weeks.
