Crash detection feature could be coming to the Apple Watch and iPhone

Apple may be introducing a crash detection feature to the iPhone and Apple Watch as soon as next year.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports Apple devices have already detected more than 10 million suspected vehicle crashes in the past year, of which more than 50,000 involved calls to emergency services. Apple reportedly relied on the call data to emergency services to refine the accuracy of the crash-detecting algorithm.
The crash detection feature is expected to be released in 2022 as part of iOS 16 and watchOS 9, but the timing of the launch could change. Apple already has a fall detection feature on the Apple Watch, which is credited for saving the lives of several users. Blood pressure, body temperature and blood glucose monitoring features are also believed to be coming to the Apple Watch.
