After launching a smartwatch and earbuds in September 2023, Nothing’s sub-brand, CMF by Nothing, has finally unveiled its first smartphone.
Following Nothing’s naming convention, the first-ever phone by the sub-brand, CMF Phone 1, is joined by the updated CMF Watch Pro 2 and CMF Buds Pro 2.
CMF Phone 1
The CMF Phone 1 might be an entry-level smartphone. Still, it comes with some fantastic hardware perks like a 120Hz refresh rate on a large 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a 50MP rear camera and a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor that supports 5G.
However, the truly unique part of the phone is the design. Intended to be semi-modular, the CMF Phone 1 features a removable back cover held on by screws, allowing users to change out different-coloured covers and even screw on accessories like a lanyard or card case easily.
The optional covers come in four choices: Black, Light Green, Blue and Orange. The Black and Light Green options have a texture formed into the case, while Blue and Orange use a layer of vegan leather embedded on top. The Blue model is only available in India, but the Blue cover will be available as a separate purchase in Singapore.

Despite the removable back cover and the ability to literally screw around with the device, CMF by Nothing has achieved an IPX2 water resistance rating for the Phone 1. In Singapore, the phone will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is also expandable up to 2TB via MicroSD, which is rarely seen in most phones nowadays.
There’s a 5,000mAh battery inside, which supports 33W wired fast charging. CMF by Nothing is offering two years of major Android updates and three years of security updates.
The CMF Phone 1 will retail at S$369 and is available at CMF by Nothing’s Lazada and Shopee stores and at Challenger.
CMF Watch Pro 2

The CMF Watch Pro 2, which has also been announced, comes with a new circular 1.32-inch display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, multi-satellite GPS, and health tracking features like sleep tracking, menstrual cycle tracking, stress tracking, and more.

The bezel is interchangeable. The silicone strap option has a flat bezel, while the leather strap model has a rounded bezel. Both options are available as separately purchased accessories, so they can be mixed and matched as desired.
We understand that the CMF Watch Pro 2 is not a Wear OS device, and it requires pairing to your phone for the notifications to come through.
The CMF Watch Pro 2 retails at S$119 and will be available at CMF by Nothing’s Lazada and Shopee stores and at challenger.
CMF Buds Pro 2

Last but not least, the CMF Buds Pro 2 also gets a bit of a redesign, with a square case that’s reminiscent of the Nothing Ear earbuds. However, there’s no transparent aesthetic here. The plastic case has a unique dial on the upper right corner of the lid, which can be customized with different earbud controls, including volume control, track skipping, and more.
Key perks include dual drivers and support for LDAC, spatial audio and Direc Opteo. There's also hybrid Active Noise Cancellation up to 50dB with six microphones in total for clear voice calls. The earbuds retain the standard stem design and are also relatively light at 4.9g each.
Battery life does seem to be average, however, with up to just 6.5 hours in the earbuds when ANC is turned on.
These earbuds, retailing at S$99, will be available at CMF by Nothing’s Lazada and Shopee stores and at Challenger.
