The ASUS ZenFone AR is a Project Tango phone that merges AR and VR
ASUS' new ZenFone AR is the first phone to support both Google's Daydream View VR platform and Project Tango. It is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.

A leaked Qualcomm press release has inadvertently given us an early look at what to expect from ASUS’ press conference on Wednesday. The upcoming ZenFone AR supports both Google Daydream View VR and Project Tango, making it the first phone to utilize Google’s VR and AR platforms.
The phone will run on the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, the same chip that powers phones like the Google Pixel and OnePlus 3T. In comparison, the first commercially available Project Tango-equipped phone, the Lenovo Phab2 Pro, runs on the considerably weaker Snapdragon 652 processor.
Tango comprises software and camera hardware that provides advanced 3D sensing capabilities, and can measure spaces and objects and even superimpose interactive digital creations on top of the real world.
However, the ZenFone AR was also designed for VR with a high-resolution display and sensors for precise head tracking, but Qualcomm stopped short of listing the full specifications of the phone.
There are no further details available at this point in time, and we’ll probably have to wait till Wednesday to find out more.
