Apple is expected to announce a hardware subscription service soon.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claims Apple is "actively testing this new service" that will integrate with the AppleOne bundles. It is slated to launch later this year or next year.

Gurman says the hardware subscription service did not debut at the recent iPhone event as the company wants to "reduce launch day complexity". Introducing a new way of getting the iPhone 14 at launch may confuse consumers.

The hardware subscription service was reported by Bloomberg earlier this year. The service would allow customers to pay a monthly fee and use Apple devices for the duration of the subscription period. It is different from the typical installment plans as the monthly fee will not be the price of the device split across 12, 24 or 36 months.

With Apple rumoured to hold an event next month for the iPad and Mac, it could be timely for Apple to unveil the hardware subscription service to draw in sales for the upcoming holiday season.
