The next-generation Apple iPhone SE could use OLED panels from LG Display.
A second OLED supplier has reportedly been added to Apple's supply chain for the next-generation iPhone SE.
According to TheElec, LG Display has reportedly been recruited as the second OLED supplier for the iPhone SE 4. Chinese display maker BOE is said to be the primary OLED supplier. Given BOE's less-than-stellar track record, LG Display could serve as a safeguard against unexpected production issues.
BOE and LG Display are expected to supply OLED screen panels similar to the ones used in the iPhone 13, which should make the manufacturing process easier and keep the overall cost of the device low. This would help Apple achieve its purported goal of keeping the iPhone SE 4's price tag below US$500.
The iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to use the same chassis as the iPhone 16, and its display will have the Dynamic Island feature. It is likely to be unveiled in spring 2025.
