Apple users are facing touch screen issues following the latest iOS 18 update
There is no fix to it just yet, but hopefully, a software update is around the corner. #Apple #iOS18 #iPhone

Users of the new iPhone 16 Pro and other iPhone models running iOS 18 are experiencing touchscreen responsiveness problems.
According to 9to5Mac, the issue appears to come from a software bug rather than a hardware fault, which is causing iPhones to ignore taps, swipes, and other gestures at seemingly random times.
Upon further investigation, the problem seems to stem from an overly sensitive touch rejection algorithm in iOS 18. The algorithm was initially designed to prevent accidental inputs when users are holding their devices, but it seems that it also rejects intentional touches (as can be seen in this demo). The issue becomes even more glaring when contact with the edges of the screen is made while gripping and utilising the phones.
The problem is inconsistent, with affected devices often returning to normal functionality after a brief period. While the new iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max were the most commonly cited phones in user reports, the bug is not exclusive to these new models.
Users of older iPhones, including the iPhone 14, and even some iPad models have reported similar issues. Interestingly, the slimmer bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro may be exacerbating the issue since it's easier for the user to accidentally touch the edges of the screen.
For now, there is no official comment from Apple yet on this bug, but given the software-related nature of this bug, it’s likely that they will roll out a fix for it soon.
