Tipster @SonnyDickson shared on X what is allegedly a photo of the upcoming iPhone SE 4's case and it has a larger-than-usual camera cutout. This suggests Apple might give it two cameras, which would be a first for the iPhone SE.

While this will undoubtedly make the new iPhone SE extremely attractive, it will also invariably increase costs. Therefore, it's hard to say if the new iPhone SE will have two cameras.

Apple reportedly wants to keep the price under US$500. With Face ID, a bigger screen and OLED rumoured to be heading to the iPhone SE 4, Apple has to manage the production costs carefully.

To keep costs down, the new iPhone SE model could miss out on a feature found in recent iPhones - the Action Button.

The leaked photo of the case shows a cutout on the side above the volume controls. The cutout seems to be designed for the physical mute switch, which has been replaced by the Action Button on the iPhone 16 lineup and iPhone 15 Pro models.

The Action Button was introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro last year and is essentially a customisable button that can be used to do just about anything – launch a frequently-used app or execute common actions.

Another area where it is believed to be able to save a lot of money is the rumoured deployment of its own 5G modem in the iPhone SE 4. By using its own modems, Apple can avoid paying Qualcomm royalty fees for the use of its patents and modems.

The Apple iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to launch in early 2025.
