Apple could use Apple Watch's hardened aluminum in next iPhone to rid bending issues
According to rumors, Apple will use its Apple Watch's hardened aluminum in its next iPhone to lay "bendgate" issues to rest once and for all.

"Bendgate" is an issue that has plagued lots of smartphones makers. Most recently, Samsung's new Galaxy S6 Edge was thrust into the spotlight after it was found that it would bend under 110lbs (54kg) of pressure. However, this whole bending controversy arguably started with the iPhone 6 and became known as "bendgate".
Apple, however, is keen to lay the issue to rest. According to murmurs from the Chinese media, Apple could use the hardened aluminum of the Apple Watch Sport in its next iPhone.
According to Apple, the Apple Watch Sport uses a new alloy of 7000 Series aluminum that is 60% stronger than standard alloys. Currently, the iPhone 6 Plus was found to bend under the same 110lbs (54kg) of pressure. If the claims are true, the next iPhone 6 Plus would be appreciably stronger and could make the whole "bendgate" issue go away.
