Android 14 beta testers are enjoying all the new features that are coming with the new operating system. However, one such feature that wasn’t teased at Google I/O 2023 is a new drag-and-drop feature, and the discovery of this Android beta tweak is now making its rounds on Twitter.
As reported by XDA Developers, the Google News Telegram channel’s editor shared a drag-and-drop recording on his copy of Android 14 beta.
To use the feature, a user must have two fingers ready – one to “hold” onto the text, image, or file while the other finger navigates between apps. Once ready, the user releases the copied content into the new app.
Drag-and-drop isn’t new to mobile interfaces. Apple, for instance, has had drag-and-drop across different apps since iOS 15. It’s a good thing that Android users are also getting a similar feature since phones are central to productivity — especially if you’re running a digital-first business or soliciting work via your mobile.
