Analyst expects no delay in the production and launch of iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 remains on track to launch in September 2021 according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic is still raging aroung the world, it is unlikely to affect the production and launch timelines for the Apple iPhone 13.

In his latest investor note, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shares that the mass production of the iPhone 13 will return to the regular schedule before the Covid-19 outbreak. This also suggests that Apple is on track to announce the iPhone 13 lineup in September 2021.

The Covid-19 outbreak this year disrupted Apple's supply chain and production timeline for the iPhone 12 lineu, which resulted in a staggered launch for the different iPhone 12 models. The lower shipping forecast for A14 chips from TSMC in Q2 2021 compared to Q1 2021 is not a concern as Kuo says it is "seasonal", and not due to lower sales.

In fact, Kuo reiterated that demand for the Pro models are better than expected. However, Apple is reportedly facing supply issues with the Sony camera sensors for the Pro models. In addition, Apple is believed to be struggling with supply shortages of LiDAR parts and power chips for the iPhone 12.
