2016 Pixel phones will have unlimited original photo/video backup for life

While the recently announced Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones have an expiration date on their unlimited, original photo/video uploads to Google Photos , owners of the 2016 Pixel phones are exempted from the time limitation. 

A Google representative reportedly confirmed to Android Police that nothing has changed for the 2016 pixel phones; they continue to enjoy free unlimited original-quality storage for photos and videos on Google Photos with no expiry date. 

In case you don't know, Google Photos allows you to save photos and videos in two options: original and high quality. Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL users might not be able to upload original photos and videos after 2020, but they can continue to access them and upload future photos/videos in high quality.
