Hands-on: Samsung Galaxy S25 FE brings the best of both worlds - a slimmer body with more battery

Samsung has finally brought forth its flagship-lite Galaxy S to round off its 2025 series, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE.

As a Fan Edition device, it’s designed to pack in as many flagship-tier features and perks from the mainline S25 series, but with a lower price tag, making it more affordable for those considering a toe-dip into Samsung’s ecosystem.

One UI 8 out of the box with critical upgrades

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE uses the Exynos 2400, which is the same processor used in Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ (and a better chipset than the one inside the previous Galaxy S24 FE).

What’s intriguing is Samsung making the Galaxy S25 FE even slimmer, coming in at 7.4mm (0.2mm thinner than predecessor) but with 200mAh more battery capacity, topping off at 4,900mAh now. Samsung also upgraded its previous 25W wired charging to the Galaxy S25 FE’s 45W wired charging, on top of upgrading to Qi2 wireless 15W charging.

This means the Galaxy S25 FE is a true upgrade across its processor, battery cap, and charging speeds.

Other upgrades include its 12MP front camera, which, on paper, looks the same as the Galaxy S24 FE, but actually has 20% more resolution captured during selfies. The phone also received a 10% larger vapour chamber, packing on more cooling allowance to improve the phone’s thermal management.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE also has One UI 8 out of the box, and the company highlighted several key AI features it knows are popular among its existing users. On the flagship-lite handset is Generative Edit (tap objects to edit and remove in photos), Circle To Search with Google (for visually searching phone content), Audio Eraser (intelligent noise detection and removal, now expanded to also work in voice recording and Notes app), and Instant Slow-mo, which pulls out a moment in your clip to create a slow-motion reel for you.

This is on top of other AI-assisted One UI 8 features like Now Brief, Now Bar, and Gemini Live.

Still the same Edition for Fans

The rest of the Galaxy S25 FE is just as familiar as before, with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that has a 60/120Hz refresh rate, a triple rear camera array (50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide, and 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom).

Three configurations are available, all with 8GB RAM and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options.

The front and back are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, on top of IP68 rating against water and dust resistance.

Additionally, Samsung stated that it receives seven years of security patches and OS generation updates.

Singapore pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE starts at S$948 (128GB) from 12 September 2025 onwards. It comes in Navy, Icyblue, Jetblack, and White. In greater detail below:
