It looks like Honor is about to launch its 2025 flip-style, clamshell foldable phone.

The smartphone brand has been diligently uploading a string of teasers on its official Weibo account over the previous week, drip-feeding a series of important spec details, key points, and other critical bits about the Honor Magic V Flip2.

Honor Magic V Flip2’s inner display is said to maintain its near-creaseless look even after 350,000 folds.

In one post, Honor said that the Magic V Flip2 uses “ultra-tough” UTG glass, with a crease that’s less than 50μm even after 350,000 folds (Honor estimates that to be five years of use).

Assuring its to-be users of the phone’s battery life is another post that talked about the Magic V Flip2’s 5,500mAh silicon-carbon battery (the actual translation is Qinghai Lake battery, a reference to the lake’s high salt content for its size). The battery also supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.

To raise its appeal, Honor shared that the clamshell comes in four colourways, with Dawn Purple (likely a reference to the morning glory flower) as its first mention. The others are Moonlight White, Titanium Gray, and Dreamweaver Blue.

Honor also said the flip-style foldable is first launching in Shanghai, China, on 21 August 2025 at 7.30 PM (GMT+8, which is also Singapore Time). The clamshell phone is already available for online pre-order in the Chinese market. There’s no word yet on the phone’s international availability.

It also looks like Honor has employed the help of Taiwanese-Canadian singer and actress, Angela Zhang, to promote the Magic V Flip2 as “Honor’s Aesthetics Fashion Officer”.

If you also look at the keynote’s launch details, it’s also clear that Honor partnered with British luxury fashion label, Jimmy Choo. In particular, the bejewelled detailing found on the phone’s hinge and camera rims are inspired by the fashion label. The dual rear cameras also feature a small footprint on a seemingly end-to-end secondary square display.

It really seems like Honor is pulling out all the stops to appeal to the Magic V Flip2’s supposed target audience.
