If you're at Raffles City (Level 1) anytime between today and 17th October 2017, be sure to check out Samsung's latest digital art exhibition - Joy in everyday art.
The collection of digital art is contributed by local artists, photographers, illustrators, and influencers. The gallery was curated by Daniel Yun, a veteran film producer (better known for leading local production house Raintree Pictures for films, including 881, and I Not Stupid).
The digital art created for this exhibit revolves around the Samsung Galaxy Note8 smartphone, as it was instrumental to the creation to many (if not all) of the works showcased throughout the gallery.
You can expect works featuring homegrown talents big and small - the list includes Sonny Liew, winner of 3 Eisner Awards for his New York Times bestseller work, a graphic novel titled The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye, as well as Band of Doodlers, a community-driven art group with about 100 artists who have worked for corporate and public events (SG50, Starbucks, Nike, Singapore Grand Prix, to name a few).
Subtlety is an art form, like this piece of artwork. Can you tell that it's actually a digital Samsung display hidden among printed works?
"This exhibition is a coming together of homegrown talents from such diverse backgrounds and professions, where there is an explosion of creative ideas. It creates a space that brings people together." - Daniel Yun
Be sure to check out the full range of art pieces done for Joy in everyday art - it's located at various points around the first floor of Raffles City.
