In photos: The very red iPhone 7 (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition
The new iPhone 7 PRODUCT(RED) Special Edition is the first time Apple ever released a red iPhone. Take a closer look at it here.

The iPhone 7 PRODUCT(RED) special edition is the first time Apple has ever released an iPhone in red. This the biggest PRODUCT(RED) offering to date and part of the profits earned will be donated to the Global Fund to increase awareness and fund research to fight HIV/AIDS.
This special edition iPhone has a red matte aluminum finish on the back and white bezels on the front. The specifications of the phone are unchanged.
The red aluminum finish is really nice and it changes shade depending on how light falls on it. In bright light it appears to be a vibrant candy red, but in low light it shows up as a rich dark red.
A small detail that will probably go unnoticed by most people is that there is a stainless steel surround around the home button. On the silver, gold, and rose gold model, the surround matches the case finish. Here, it matches the Apple logo on the back of the phone.
As I mentioned earlier, the Apple logo on the back is rendered in stainless steel. Note also how the antenna bands are done in a lighter shade of red.
The ring/silent switch and volume controls button are all done in the same matte red finish as the phone itself.
This is how the iPhone 7 PRODUCT(RED) special edition looks like next to a black one. If you like something that's flashier, more fun and vibrant, the new PRODUCT(RED) iPhones are the way to go. For those of you who prefer something more subtle, the black one is a good choice. It looks nondescript next to the new PRODUCT(RED) iPhone.
The stainless steel surround on the PRODUCT(RED) iPhone makes it pop in comparison to the black iPhone.
The PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available only in 128GB and 256GB capacities with prices beginning from S$1,218 for the iPhone 7 and $1,418 for the iPhone 7 Plus. Orders will begin on 24th March from 11.01pm and phones will be shipped to customers by the end of March.
