Announced just days back, Oppo is now almost ready to launch pre-orders of the Find X2 Pro in Singapore. The phone with a 6.7-inch 120Hz QHD screen, a co-developed Sony IMX689 camera sensor, a good set of lenses, 5G modem and awesome speakers, is available for pre-order from this Saturday (14th March) at all Oppo Concept Stores and Oppo’s Shopee Online store at S$1,699. Let's take a closer look at the device.
The new phone will come in Ceramic and Vegan Leather backing. Those pre-ordering the Find X2 Pro will enjoy a free gift bundle of a Nescafe Dolce Gusto Lumio Coffee Machine (S$219) and a pair of Oppo Enco Free earbuds (S$189) . That brings the total value of the freebies to S$408, effectively making the phone actually worth about S$1,291.
The camera module is less pronounced on the model on the right thanks to the layer of vegan leather. The camera module packs a Sony powered 48MP wide-angle lens, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 13MP telephoto lens, whilst supporting 10x Hybrid Zoom.
Other than the camera module protrusion, both phones are exactly the same. They are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform, to support SA and NSA dual-mode 5G networks with high speed and stability thanks to the supporting Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF system.
How many would cover the beautiful leather back with protection? That aside, the new phone supports a crazy fast 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge that can fully charge the Find X2 Pro in just 38 minutes!
Like so many others, there is no more 3.5mm audio jack, but just a single USB Type-C port for data, power and audio output needs. The phone's built-in speakers though, they are quite something altogether and here's our quick test of it. They are probably the best we've heard off a mobile phone.
Here's another test shot, but of the entire scene, again photographed using the main camera. Is it too saturated or do you prefer the warmth and colour overdrive? You'll also note that the plants outside the restaurant area look a little blur as if the depth of field was narrower, giving it a slight bokeh effect. Or it could be digital processing at work.
For comparison, here is the same shot taken on an Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max. It's obvious that the outcome from the Oppo phone on the earlier page looks a lot more lively and punchy whereas the iPhone's shot was more neutral and natural. What's your preference? Once more, the phone will be available on pre-order from 14th March 2020 over here. Oppo is also preparing for a trade-in programme that could see up to S$1,000 off for selected models.
