Hands-on: LG Optimus 4X HD & LG Optimus 3D Max
LG follows suit in the quad-core race with its flagship LG Optimus 4X HD and beefs up its 3D smartphone portfolio with the Optimus 3D Max. Let's take a quick look, shall we?
Hands-on: LG Optimus 4X HD & LG Optimus 3D Max
At this year's MWC event, LG came armed with an arsenal of products, all varied in their nature and target group. There's the Optimus Vu, a 5-inch 4:3 ratio smartphone device, the L-Style series for the fashionistas, and there's the LG Optimus 4X and LG Optimus 3D Max for those looking for cutting edge technology. The former is pretty noteworthy as it is the Tegra 3 quad-core smartphone from LG.
On the other hand, the LG Optimus 3D Max takes a slight departure from LG's previous 3D-enabled phone, the LG Optimus 3D, with a couple of improvements thrown in. Superficially, the new Android 2.3 phone feels lighter and less bulkier than its predecessor. Other upgraded goodies include HSPA+ 21Mbps, and NFC connectivity / LG Tag+ features.

The 4.7-inch Full HD IPS screen is extremely clear with good color reproduction and brightness. LG's customized UI (some might recognize elements of it) showcases itself in the dock.
The silver accent around the phone adds a touch of class to its build. Following in the steps of most smartphones these days, LG has done away with physical buttons in favor of touch controls. The profile of the phone is extremely slim at 8.9mm despite a heavyweight 2150mAh battery.
The plastic volume buttons are pretty indistinguishable here. We found it slightly too flat for our liking but it's a small flaw in an otherwise functional phone.
The plastic textured back keeps the phone safe from unwanted fingerprints and allows for a good grip. Noticeable above the LG logo is its 8-megapixel camera and LED flash.
Yes, the LG Optimus 4X HD (or LG P880) runs on the latest Android 4.0 build.
