Singtel has significantly revamped its 5G+ mobile plans in Singapore, rolling out upgrades that bring unlimited local data, much-expanded roaming allowances and enhanced speed and security features for customers. The changes aim to make life easier for travellers and heavy users alike.

In the refreshed lineup, the key enhancements include:

  • Unlimited local mobile data for most 5G+ plans at the same monthly price. Previously, many plans had large but still finite caps (for example, 300 GB for a no-contract SIM-only plan).
  • Unlimited roaming data in Malaysia for all the 5G+ Priority plans. Previously, roaming data in Malaysia was capped (for example 50 GB).
  • Substantially larger roaming allowances for Asia and global destinations. For example, one report states that a plan now includes 50 GB Malaysia roaming, 10 GB Asia roaming and 1 GB worldwide roaming, for a tier called “Enhanced M”.
  • Enhanced network access via “Priority Network Lane” (for 5G+ Priority plans) giving up to 4x faster speeds and lower latency for those on those premium tiers.
  • Built-in network-level security with features such as “Mobile Protect” to block malware, phishing and other threats at the network layer, automatically activated for 5G+ users.

Why it matters for customers

For Singaporean retail users travelling overseas (for leisure or work), these upgrades offer tangible benefits:

With unlimited local data, there’s no need to worry about hitting a data cap while streaming, hotspotting or gaming.

The unlimited Malaysia roaming means users can travel across the Causeway (to Johor Bahru or Kuala Lumpur) without needing separate travel SIMs or worrying about over-usage.

Larger Asia and global roaming allowances mean less hassle activating add-ons when abroad or paying high roaming rates.

The priority network lane and built-in security features mean fewer frustrations in crowded locations or overseas venues (airports, concerts) and more protection against scams or malware when using mobile data abroad.

Singtel’s upgrades make its 5G+ plans more travel-friendly, heavy-use friendly and security-conscious, all without requiring a higher monthly spend. This positions them well for people who want mobile broadband to just “work” globally, with fewer surprises. The introduction of unlimited roaming in Malaysia, in particular, stands out as a bold move in the Singapore telco market. Interested customers can find out more here.
