Google’s upcoming foldable phone could prove to be a strong contender against the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Vivo X Fold5.

Android Headlines claims to have obtained official specs of the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, five of which we feel are noteworthy to mention.

While the main foldable display remains at 8.0 inches, the cover display gets a slight bump from 6.3 to 6.4 inches. It is also claimed to be upgraded to have a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits—a 10% increase over the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

The Tensor G5 chip is expected to power the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, paired with 16GB of RAM and a 5,015mAh battery. That’s a 7% increase in battery capacity over its predecessor. Although it pales in comparison to the X Fold5’s 6,000mAh battery, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold boasts a 9% larger battery than the Galaxy Z Fold7.

In terms of storage capacity, Google is reportedly adding a new 1TB option for the first time. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is only available in 256GB and 512GB storage options.

Notably, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to be the first foldable phone with an IP68 rating, giving it an edge over the Galaxy Z Fold7’s IP48 rating and X Fold5’s IPX8/IPX9 water resistance and IPX5 dust resistance ratings.

However, the camera hardware appears to be unchanged, with the same 48MP main camera, 10.5MP ultra-wide camera, a 10.8MP 5x telephoto camera, and a 10MP selfie camera.

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 10 series on 20 August. The base Pixel 10 model is rumoured to have a telephoto camera, while the Pixel 10 Pro may only receive modest updates.
