Months after Netflix raised subscription fees in some countries, Apple is following suit with a price hike for its video streaming service, Apple TV+.

According to 9to5Mac, the monthly subscription fee for Apple TV+ will be increased from US$9.99 to US$12.99 (~S$16.74) in the US and several international markets. Fortunately, Singapore is spared for now.

Existing Apple TV+ users in affected markets will pay the new subscription fee 30 days after their next renewal date. The annual subscription and Apple One services bundle are not affected by the price increase.

This is the third time Apple has increased prices since Apple TV+ launched in 2019. Apple TV+ was S$6.98 per month at launch. Prices were then increased by S$3 in November 2022, and another S$4 in October 2023.

If past trends are any guide, it’s likely only a matter of time before Singapore subscribers get hit by the price hike.
