Apple could be preparing for an iPhone 17 event in the second week of September.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg believes Apple is eyeing the week of 8 September to announce the new iPhones. Gurman based his projection on a review of iPhone launches from the past decade:

  • 5 were held on a Tuesday
  • 3 were scheduled on a Wednesday
  • 1 was on a Monday
  • 1 was delayed to October due to COVID-19

According to the historical trend, Gurman suggests the most likely date for the event is 8, 9, or 10 September. Apple typically sends out media invites about one week in advance, which means we’re still more than a month and a half away from any official confirmation.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup and new Apple Watch models at the event. There’s also a chance we might see new AirPods Pro.
