Anker has announced what it claims is the world’s first smart display charger capable of recognising the connected iPhone model and adjusting the charging speeds to preserve battery health.

Dubbed the Nano Charger (45W, Smart Display, 180° Foldable), the charger can identify supported iPhone models, from the iPhone 15 to the iPhone 17 series, and deliver the appropriate power output. According to Anker, it can also recognise several iPad Pro models, including the 11-inch versions from 2020 to 2024, the 12.9-inch models from 2020 to 2022, and the 13-inch 2024 model.

The charger features a smart 3-stage charging process that adapts to a device’s power needs. For instance, it can fast-charge an iPhone at up to 45W when the battery level is around 10%, reduce output to 30W at 50%, and switch to trickle charging once the battery reaches 90%.

It also has a TÜV-certified Care Mode, which is a mode designed for overnight charging. According to Anker, this mode keeps both the phone and the charger cooler compared to other 45W chargers.

Another handy feature is its 180° foldable prongs that allow the charger to fit a wide range of power outlets while keeping the smart display visible. The display offers more than 20 interfaces, providing real-time information on power output, temperature, and charging modes.

Availability and pricing

The Anker Nano Charger (45W, Smart Display, 180° Foldable) is set to launch later this month with a retail price of US$39.99 (~S$51).
