Kingston has announced the launch of their new NV1 NVMe PCIe SSD in a single-sided M.2 design, which the company says is the “ideal entry-level drive for first-time NVMe users with laptops and small form factor PCs”.

In 2020, Kingston shipped over 20M SSDs globally, according to analyst firm Forward Insights.

Available in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities, the NV1 utilises NVMe PCIe Gen 3.0 x 4 Lanes to give it read/write speeds up to 2,100/1,700MB/s respectively. This is three times the performance of a SATA-based SSD. Kingston also added that the NV1 uses less power, emits less heat, and has quicker load times making it ideal for users looking for ultra-fast data access but have systems with limited space.

According to the company, the endurance of the 500GB drive is 120TBW (Terabytes Written), with the 1TB SSD 240TBW, and the 2TB SDD 480TBW.

They also have a limited three-year warranty and free tech support from Kingston.

The NV1 is available now from Lazada and Kingston’s official resellers with the 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities costing S$120, S$220, and S$425 respectively. Kingston’s exciting Summer Sale is also going on from 6 May to 18 June. Any purchase of an SSD of 480GB (including NV1) and above will come with a free Kingston x CSD limited-edition mask.
