ASUS's new ZenBook 14 OLED gets a fresh design and choice of Intel and AMD processors
Apart from the ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition, ASUS also announced the new ZenBook 14 OLED.
The highlight of these notebooks is obviously the display. It's a 14-inch OLED that supports a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels. It also has a high refresh rate of 90Hz, 550 nits peak brightness, 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space, and DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification.
There will be Intel and AMD versions. The Intel versions are powered by the latest P-series Alder Lake mobile processors while the AMD versions will feature Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors. Both versions can be equipped with up to 16GB of memory and up to 1TB of SSD storage.
There are subtle changes to the design too. Gone are the signature ZenBook concentric circles on the display cover and in its place are ASUS' new ZenBook logos.
There are also new colour options. The Intel models come in Aqua Celadon and Ponder Blue while the AMD model will be available in Jade Black.
Regardless of which model you pick, the thickness and weight are the same at 16.9mm and 1.39kg respectively. And despite their relatively svelte dimensions, these notebooks all meet the MIL-STD-810 standards of durability.
As for ports, there's two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. All three support USB 3.2 Gen 2. Sadly, there's no support for Thunderbolt 4 or USB4. There's also an HDMI 2.0b port, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, and a microSD card slot.
Availability and pricing
ASUS did not reveal any pricing information and would only say that the ZenBook 14 OLED will be available later this year. We will update this article once we get more details.
