Apple's new 140W power brick, which is included with the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro, is the company's first gallium nitride (GaN) charger. The use of GaN technology allows Apple to build a smaller, more efficient charger than current silicon chargers.

The 140W power brick also uses the USB-C Power Delivery (PD) 3.1 standard, which means it can be used to charge other devices that support the standard and that the 16-inch MacBook Pro is compatible with third-party chargers that support the standard.

Apple is selling the 140W USB-C power adapter as an optional accessory for S$119. It recommends pairing the power adapter with a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable to take advantage of fast charging.
